Time Management Strategies

An aesthetically pleasing planner

The schedule that I was sent for completing my assignments was perfect. I personally do not like to do homework over the weekends as I use those days for mental recovery and to just relax for the week. This week was hectic, so I strayed from my usual homework schedule and am currently doing homework on a Saturday, but beginning Monday I will be back on my normal routine.

The suggested time management tool I currently use is having a weekly calendar. I actually ordered a planner from Plum Paper (not sponsored) and added sections for each class, as well as, a separate section for my work and gym schedule. I feel that having every assignment written down and planned ahead of time is what keeps me on track for completing assignments. I also plan to work ahead and complete as much extra credit as possible.

The article I enjoyed the most was titled The Myth of "Too Busy" by Tim Grahl. This article was my favorite because I also agree that the word busy is something people use to feel prideful about their life when in reality it is just not prioritizing their time appropriately. Personally, I will always make time for important tasks and people, which means prioritizing what is truly important and cutting off any slack. This article was a great read and I highly suggest it as it will change one's perspective on what it means to be busy.

Based off my classes last semester, I think my biggest challenge will be trying to do too much at one time. Rather than stay up until 3am completing assignments, I plan on spreading out my workload over the week even if it means doing homework on the weekend. This semester I really want to focus on getting my assignments done in a timely manner while maintaining my sanity.
