Granny's Blackie refusing money

  • One day a rich man gifted a baby elephant to a lady
  • The lady named the elephant Blackie and the neighborhood children named the lady Granny
  • The elephant grew to be loved by all who surrounded him
  • Blackie even played with the neighborhood children
  • Their playing consisted of tossing and swinging the children in the air 
  • Blackie's life was amazing and there was no work involved
  • One day, Blackie noticed that Granny was getting old and needed help with work
  • Blackie set out on his own and found work to do 
  • A man offered him two silver pieces for every wagon he helped pull and so Blackie decided to help
  • The man was a liar and only payed Blacked one silver piece for every wagon, so Blackie sat in the road and blocked the wagons
  • Blackie did not accept the money and did not move either
  • Finally the man paid Blackie the money that was owed and Blackie set home to be with Granny
  • Granny was pleased with Blackie and the earnings
  • Granny knew Blackie was amazing
